This fall the Center for Health Services Research and Development (CHSR) organized two events to promote tobacco control in Armenia. As a founding member of the Coalition for Tobacco Free Armenia and in cooperation with the Boghossian Gardens, CHSR participated in National No Tobacco Day on October 12 by organizing an interactive educational session during which students of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program talked with primary school children about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the hazards of tobacco smoke.  While MPH students talked with children, CHSR staff distributed informational leaflets on the health hazards of smoking and secondhand smoke to visitors at Lovers’ Park where the event was held.  CHSR also organized an antismoking exhibition in the National Assembly (NA) on October 24. The Speaker of the NA Hovik Abrahamyan and the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood Ara Babloyan opened the event.
