The first was a six-day\u00a0introductory seminar on municipal solid waste management led by Dr. Edwin Safari of the Queens University, Canada. More than 30\u00a0participants\u00a0completed the training, including public sector employees, local NGOs, international organizations, and university students. \u00a0Dr. Safari discussed several topics related to municipal waste including: solid waste disposal and treatment options, characteristics of solid\u00a0waste (physical, chemical, biological), resource recovery and recycling, waste-to-energy, landfill design, and municipal solid waste\u00a0strategic planning.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 500px;\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"5\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ebulletin.aua.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Edwin-Safari-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"188\" \/><\/td>\n<td><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ebulletin.aua.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/es.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"188\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Later in the month, the College of Engineering, with the collaboration of Armenian Project\u00a0Management Association, organized a Project Management workshop led by Ojeni Sammis, a project manager with nearly three\u00a0decades of experience at Xerox Corporation. \u00a0The open-to-the-public and free event was held on September 22 and 23 in AUA&#8217;s Manoogian Auditorium. More than 100 participants, including students, alumni, and practitioners, took part in the lively and interactive event, where Ms.\u00a0Sammis offered real case scenarios from industry, including from her first-hand experience.
