{"id":1018,"date":"2013-02-04T10:33:25","date_gmt":"2013-02-04T06:33:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebulletin.aua.am\/?p=1018"},"modified":"2013-02-04T10:35:44","modified_gmt":"2013-02-04T06:35:44","slug":"armenias-first-deputy-defense-minister-at-aua","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebulletin.aua.am\/armenias-first-deputy-defense-minister-at-aua\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenia\u2019s First Deputy Defense Minister at AUA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ebulletin.aua.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/MoD-074.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"MoD 074\" src=\"https:\/\/ebulletin.aua.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/MoD-074-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"614\" height=\"461\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>YEREVAN&#8211;On January 22, the American University of Armenia (AUA) hosted a lecture by the Armenian Defense Ministry marking the 21st anniversary of the founding of Armenia\u2019s Armed Forces.<\/p>\n<p>The event, titled \u201cArmed Forces of the Republic of Armenia &#8211; 21 Years Old in the 21st Century,\u201d featured a detailed presentation on Armenia\u2019s Armed Forces, exploring its two-decade-long history, the current security challenges it faces, and its future agenda.<\/p>\n<p>AUA President Dr. Bruce Boghosian opened the event by welcoming First Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan and his Senior Administrative Staff Specialist Margarita Hakobyan.<\/p>\n<p>Tonoyan has served in the Armed Forces since 1992, and is the recipient of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Degree Medals \u201cFor Fair Service,\u201d the Vazgen Sargsyan Medal, the Andranik Ozanyan Medal, and the 2nd Degree Medal \u201cFor Services Contributed to the Motherland.\u201d This is the second time that Tonoyan has given a lecture to AUA students, faculty, and staff.<\/p>\n<p>At the event\u2019s conclusion, Tonoyan fielded questions from the audience around topics ranging from human rights in the army, to which educational subjects are most beneficial to the Republic of Armenia\u2019s strategic defence.<\/p>\n<p>The American University of Armenia (AUA) is a private, independent university located in Yerevan, Armenia.
